Juniperus monosperma grows not only near the local piñon trees, but twisted together in ecological harmony. These remarkable trees can survive prolonged drought and their brightly colored berries nourish rabbits, coyotes, birds and more. The juniper tree's yellow resin is traditionally used to treat colds and rheumatism by inhaling the smoke or in vapor baths.
Rocky Mountain juniper tears smell like nothing you've ever sniffed (unless you live out here!) and collecting these blissful droplets of natural tree resin is a magical experience - rivaled only by burning them at home.
